We have been partners with H&A Racing for the past few years. This team consists of elite triathletes from the Bradenton / Sarasota area. This team is consistently on the overall podium of races. We are lucky to help this group of athletes shine on race day!!
Sarasota Cycling Club
The Sarasota Cycling Club, based in Sarasota, FL., is an amateur sport club with a focus on rider development. There goal is to offer the support and infrastructure for local competitive cyclists to maximize their enjoyment and potential in this tremendous sport. They give back through community outreach, supporting local charity organizations and offering cycling specific events throughout the year. They are a USA Cycling bicycle racing club with male, female, masters, and junior athletes. They communicate and promote the club with social media, community events, bicycling racing, and local group rides. They are also a registered Florida Clean Ride Club and support testing at Florida road events to ensure fair competition at the amateur level. We are proud to support such a great group of cyclist in the area.
Roy races everything from sprint to half ironman distances. He also qualified for the USAT World Championship, as he posted the 11th fastest run split out of 750 athletes. You might think the run is Roy's secret weapon, but his bike is just as strong - at the Florida International Triathlon, he posted the 12th fastest bike time among over 250 athletes. You can see Roy at many local races.
Jen competes in various distances from sprint through half ironman triathlons. Additionally, you may see her at local 5Ks or running a marathon. Watch for her this year at St. Anthony's and Miami 70.3 as a few of her key races.
Susan has moved from road riding to triathlon, and in 2010 she lit up the courses. With a top finish at the Moss Park Olympic, 2nd at Ft Desoto and FIT, 4th at Medera Beach and Hammerhead Olympic, and 5th at St. Anthony's, along with a finish at Florida 70.3, Susan has been busy. That will not stop in 2011 with two half ironman distances and at least 7 other races. Susan is always out there race day so we are sure you will see her on the course.
If you have been to a local race, you have seen Chuck. Chuck has been a consistent podium finisher in local sprint and olympic distant triathlons. He also races many 5K and 10K events locally. Keep your eyes peeled for Chuck out on the course!
Elaina has been racing sprint level races for the past few years and will be stepping up to International distances this year. Elaina is a strong runner, but her swim and cycling skills are not far behind. Watch for her this year as her first International distance race will be the Florida International Triathlon in May.
Chris is currently a teacher and athletic trainer at Manatee High School. He is married and has 2 boys, so finding time to race can be a challenge. Chris used triathlon to get back in shape - dropping more than 70 pounds and reducing his body fat from over 30% to 12.5%. He raced 6 sprints in 2010, placing 1st four times, 2nd once, and 5th once in the Clydesdale division. This year he is not stopping with over 6 races on the schedule, he has added a half ironman distance late in the year to up his challenge. When you see Chris on the course, make sure you root him on!
Virginia "Ginny" Poyner has been a member of Duathlon Team USA for over 25 years. She is the only American on all 25 World Duathlon Teams. She is a 20 year All American and a 4 time Silver Medalist at World Championships. She was ranked # 1 in the nation in her age group in 2000, 1995, 1994, and 1992.
Andy started racing in 2010 and had a successful year on a borrowed bike. After getting bitten by the tri bug, he picked up a new Felt B14 and is focused on 2011. With St. Anthony's, Nautica South Beach, Siesta, and Longboat triathlons on the radar, he was be a busy guy. Continuing to race and push himself, Andy just recently completed Ironman Chattanooga.
John has been a consistent podium finisher in local sprint and olympic distant triathlons. He also races many 5K and 10K events and has brought his love of triathlon to his family - getting his daughter to make the triathlon team in college.
Sharon has been competing in triathlon for many years. Last year she took 2nd at Moss Park, 3rd at both Ft Desoto and Hammerheaad Olympic, and 6th at St. Anthony's in her division. She also competed in the Miami 70.3 in 2010, and has set her sights on 2 half ironman races along with at least 7 other races. Sharon is always out there race day so we are sure you will see her on the course.
